The newly established "glass ceiling" will come back to bite. Nonsense. That's a complete work of fiction, though Thomas' wife doesn't write very good fiction. These are battles over the acceptable limits of judicial and policitical philosophy for high appeals court judges. Plus, in this particular case, the willingness of candidates to state their views. The Dems are saying that the Bush appointees must reveal enough about their judicial philosophy so they can assess just how far right the candidate is. If the shoe were on the proverbial other foot, your side would be saying and doing the same thing. Only at a higher volume with more "end of civilization" hyperbole.
