Only a fool would say Bush did a good job on Iraq now.
Whether you wanted Saddam out or not the whole operation was botched due to lack of diplomacy, impatience and piss-poor planning from the top down. The troops did fine but the White House was reckless, arrogant, dishonest and thoughtless.

I think these things have a certain inertia. The post 9/11 country was violently jolted into a certain direction of fear and self preservation that was hard to overcome. But, bless his heart, Bush is jolting us back. Easy formula: ruin the economy, run up horrific deficits, fail in all foreign policy endeavours, attack the wrong country, let bin Laden skip free, watch more people fall into joblessness and despair. Yup, sure fire way of jolting the country out of its fear of terrorism and into a fear of neoconism...
