If a jury would convict me for that, I would do it.

I'll take my chances with a jury. As long as it's in a state that allows jury nullification.

My defense?

Yeah, members of the jury, I beat the c__p out of him.

If you think a father shouldn't do that, convict me.

If you think a father has the right, nay, the obligation, to defend his daughter's honor, find me not guilty.

Or if not that, find that I was under a fit of temporary insanity and fine me not guilty by reason of insanity, but now cured and therefore not needing treatment.

I'll take my chances with the jury. At least one of them will have the guts not to convict.
