Nah! No rest for the weary. If one looks at a monthly chart of the SOX, it is apparent that each month in the past 10 years had at least a 6% move. So the question is in which direction will this move be. My bet is up.

Individual company announcements are all positive. The only non-positive news was Friday's labor report. But it wasn't negative, either. And actually the labor situation is developing in an extra positive way for stock prices.

If the market continues to trend up slowly while awaiting Q3 reports, then just as the sell-the-news crowd gets ready to drop prices, we should see the first positive jobs count in many months. That will set prices on a wild ride upwards, and could well push nasdaq to the 2000 level by Oct 20. At that point I expect to see a sell-off due to it being a 2-year high.

I'm sure the shorts who have reluctantly covered will be very glad they did.
