Cree Announces Court Rulings Thursday August 14, 7:53 pm ET Court Denies Eric and Jocelyn Hunter's Motion for Preliminary Injunction and Allows Motion to Amend DURHAM, N.C., Aug. 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Cree, Inc. (Nasdaq: CREE - News) today announced that U.S. District Court Judge Frank Bullock denied a motion filed by Eric and Jocelyn Hunter requesting the Court to enjoin Cree and Neal Hunter from engaging in alleged harassment and related conduct. The Court allowed the plaintiffs' request to amend their complaint. In issuing its ruling from the bench, the Court found that "not enough evidence has been brought forward by the plaintiffs for the Court to even infer that Cree or Neal Hunter were behind these threats that Eric Hunter thinks happened." ADVERTISEMENT Commenting on the Court's Order, Charles M. Swoboda, Chief Executive Officer of Cree, stated, "Cree is pleased with the Court's Order denying the request for a preliminary injunction. This ruling supports our continued assertion that Cree has not engaged in any of the alleged conduct that the plaintiffs were asking the Court to enjoin." Mr. Swoboda continued, "The Court made it clear that by allowing the amended complaint it was in no way expressing a view that the complaint has any merit. While court rules allow motions to amend to be liberally granted, the Court indicated that no further amendments will be allowed unless the plaintiffs can show extremely exceptional or unusual circumstances. We continue to believe that the lawsuit is without merit and look forward to the Court hearing our motion to dismiss the amended complaint."
