Jay, why don't you write a book?

I love reading books about China. There's a great quote in "China Wakes" (written in 1994) which outlines how little they actually knew about what was going on in China, even though they were there for 5 years and spoke Chinese. They give as example the crack down on the one child policy, mostly unknown to outsiders and journalists in China as well.

I wrote an article for an online tip sheet on the history of Chinese paper money (ca. 1250-1650), and it was amazing stuff (the history, not my article). The wall bankrupted successive regimes and was a major factor in the collapse of paper money in the Ming dynasty. The Maginot line and Star Wars of its day (and about as useful, LOL).
