I don't know if they are making it up, or if they're doing what I see a lot of anti-war folks doing. Which is basically latching on to a couple of negative news events which fit their preconceived notions, and then broad brushing everything under that fold. The large news/magazine organizations also run like a bunch of single minded "don't stray from the party line" messengers. The organizational defense mechanisms against contrarian thinking is the cause of a lot of out of alignment views. The best thing to do, knowing these conditions exist in abundance, is to read from a variety of different sources. This forum and the varied articles participants post fill that need well.
