Aren't electromagnetic waves wonderful. Kidding aside, I'm a little surprised that the field strength was sufficient to "do in" your floppy disk. Reminds me of those cancer-in-the-brain scares.

OTOH, depending upon in which pocket you carry your phone, you might "do in" another floppy.
