How do you figure? We took the battle to Al-Qaeda and the Taliban in Afghanistan.. (although we're obviously unwilling to cause too much turmoil in Pakistan to chase the remnants down).

And we have taken the battle to Iraq, which has harbored other terrorist groups and leaders, and set ourselves up to intimidate the Saudi Wahhabist militants, or at least draw them out.

Disrupt their training camps, their financial networks, and distract them from targeting the US by threatening their own territory..

Every Al-Qaeda militant that fights in Iraq is one less that would be available to fight in the US or Europe.

It's a basic tenet of warfare to choose the ground upon which one does battle.

That people of your ilk would rather fight them here strikes me as a rather morbid comedy in itself.
