PRESIDENT OF CORPORATE DEVELOPMENT AND STOCK OPTION GRANT
Shear Minerals has appointed Gerald Prosalendis as vice-president of
corporate development.
Mr. Prosalendis was vice-president of corporate development for Dia Met
Minerals Ltd. and was involved in developing the Ekati mine, Canada's first
diamond mine, initial marketing of the Ekati diamonds and brand,
communicating corporate strategy to institutional investors, and in the
sale of DiaMet. Mr. Prosalendis has also been director of investor
relations for James Hoggan and Associates, one of Western Canada's leading
communications firms, and is a former business editor of The Vancouver Sun.
Shear also announces that subject to regulatory approval, the board of
directors has approved the grant of stock options pursuant to Shear's stock
option plan to acquire a total of up to 1.8 million common shares of Shear,
of which options to acquire a total of 1.6 million common shares will be
granted to directors and officers of Shear. The options will have an
exercise price of 85 cents per share or such lower price as may be
permitted under the policies of the TSX Venture Exchange and will expire
five years from the date of the grant.
