Don't go cynical on me.

The purpose of testing is to discover flaws and fix them. The armor on the Stryker has already been changed at least twice.

The Stryker is light, fast and low maintenance. Easy to ship or fly, good mileage, heavily armed, highly mobile in all terrain conditions...and therefore not heavily armored. You cannot have it all.

SF has proven the utility of such vehicles in Gulf one and two and afghanistan. The SF models were homemade in the unit motor pool and had no armor.
