Sam, as the expression goes, "One man's freedom fighter is another man's terrorist."

One needs no better examples of that than Israel and South Africa. In Israel, possibly the first example of terrorism in recent history, the Stern Gang and Irgun Zvai Leumi terrorized the British until they left. In SA, the ANC ran what the previous government of SA called a terrorist movement but now that the ANC is in charge of SA they are no longer terrorists and it is respectable for everyone to be friendly towards them.

I agree there are Muslim fanatics in various countries but they are not nearly as extensive or as dangerous as the US government makes them out to be. In fact, their targets are usually other Muslims and not the West at all. Previously, it suited the US to get involved with these groups and it is well known that the US supported and armed them like it did Saddam Hussein.

Now that the US has another agenda the game has changed and they are the bad guys.

PS. The only known connection between Saddam and terrorists was that he offered the families of Palestinian suicide bombers $25,000 as a "reward". Other than this he was not involved. Of course, people can accuse anyone of anything, especially Muslims these days.

God told Bush to go to war! How can you be upset when he got it from such a high authority? IMO, with his fundamentalism belief, he just couldn't stand seeing Saddam publicy pay off Palestinian bombers families when one of them blew up a bus load of Israelis. Also, his statement, "Saddam tried to assassinate my Dad" was one for the books!

This is shaping up to be one heck of an election year in 04.
