Here's the reference: Hatred? Yes... I hate religious militants, whatever their flavor, and in particular religious militants who care little about targeting 50,000 innocent civilians (but failing) on 9/11. Battles for souls should be waged peacefully, at a spiritual level, not through physical force. So certainly do not equate my hatred for Islamic militants to be a hatred for all Arabs, or all muslims. For centuries the Islamic world preserved the lost knowledge of Greek and Roman times, while Europe languished in the dark ages. They moderated their previous religious fervor for Jihad and were often more tolerant that their Christian counterparts. This is the kind of Islam I wish to see maintained. I'm just as opposed to Christian fundamentalism, when taken to violence. The hilarious part of the above is that before the invasion, Iraq had little to do with the fundamentalists. This is such a fallacious statement. Bin Laden himself stated that it was the US troop presence on Saudi soil that motivated him to target the US. And that very US presence was there in order to contain the intransigent Baathist regime and their the continuing threat their posed to their neighbors, as well as their own people (who often became refugees in neighboring countries). Again I repeat.. The US forces in Saudi Arabia were there because we were forced to contain the regime of Saddam Hussein, and to provide the force necessary to coerce compliance with over a dozen UNSC binding resolutions.. Now, of course, you preferred Saddam being in power to quash any fundamentalist movement that dared to rear its head. And I'm sure you were quite proud of Hafez Al-Assad for what he did in Hama. Hawk
