No, the Bushies goal is not to screw the common folk out of retirement. (emphasis mine) The goal is to enrich their best buddies, e.g., Cheney and Halliburton, Ken Lay and Enron (oops), Perle and ... , and try to buy the 2004 election. Screwing Joe Public out of a retirement is just a bonus. There is no mistake about it: the irresponsible campaign of Bush and his Congressional allies to deliberately sabotage the fiscal integrity of our government is targeted toward undermining Social Security and Medicare - yes, for many "common folk", their retirement.
