Company Wins Bid To Assess Aircraft and Defense Maintenance Applications Using Wearable Computers

FAIRFAX, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 10, 2003--Xybernaut® Corporation (NASDAQ:XYBR - News) announced today that the Company has this week been awarded a $1.62 million purchase order from the U.S. Department of Defense to provide an assessment of wearable computing technologies and solutions for select U.S. military aircraft and air defense maintenance systems.
Under terms of the agreement, Xybernaut will provide professional services and mobile/wearable technology solutions ranging from software integration to systems training and validation. In addition to previously announced hardware sales, additional hardware sales associated with this $1.62 million services contract are expected to be announced at a later date.

Xybernaut won this bid under its GSA Schedule, and will serve as prime contractor on the initiative, which is designed to establish wearable/mobile computing as a logistical and maintenance platform for field personnel responsible for servicing certain mission critical aircraft and air defense systems.
