Oh, poor little FDR...

I guess WW2 "just happened" to him...
He was a powerless little "victim" of history, right?

After all, he was only PRESIDENT OF THE FREAKIN' U.S.
for two whole terms at that point, so he couldn't have
done anything to prevent it from happening, right???

A lot of good his tax increases did!
He blew a hole in the deficit larger than this
country has ever seen!

As for the economy, FDR's policies made it WORSE!
We had another severe depression in 1937-1938 after
all of his "New Deal" policies were implemented
and were supposed to make things better.
In fact, the "Great Depression" dragged on for
an entire decade because FDR's schemes prevented
the economy from recovering on its own.

Doesn't Bush get any credit for the fact that
the recession (after the crash of the stock bubble)
turned out to be "mild and shallow" instead of the
decade-long disaster of the 1930's?
