Because taxes are still too high,
especially on high-wage earners.

In the future, we are going to be
competing with countries like
Russia which has a FLAT 13% income
tax!

The military is not the cause of
our increasing deficit. Read my
post yesterday (#454145) and you will
see that today's defense spending
is still very low by historical
standards.

"The Democrats haven't shown much inclination to keep spending in check, or to develop their own plan for reducing the deficit. When presidential candidate Howard Dean proposed repealing all the Bush tax cuts, his fellow Democrat John Kerry was as quick as any Republican to charge that Dean wants to "raise taxes." Both parties owe the country more principled action and less gamesmanship."
