Rumsfield trying to blame his mistakes on critics.
Remember Agnew spouting about the "Nittering nabobs of negativity"? Same thing. Six months later Agnew was out on corruption charges. Nixon promised to end the war and never did. Nixon used burglars and bagmen to help run his campaign. Rumsfield ought to know better. The press gave Bushies a free ride for a long-long time. But when you fail, you have to be held accountable.
