It's even causing you to beat a dead horse named Issa over and over again. ;-) If a conspiracy is setting up a recall and trying to run for governor, then Issa is guilty of a conspiracy. However, I see it as GOP politics in the 21st century.....and no conspiracy. The GOP has been taking a hands-off approach to the whole recall thing, even before Ah-nuld crashed the party. And the GOP continues to do so today. Don't believe me? Check out this article:stltoday.com ; You seem to be confusing the GOP party with GW and K.Rove. Bush is staying out of the CA recall, not the GOP party......they are up to their necks in the recall.Of course, there are strategic reasons why the GOP isn't doing much with the recall, and I think it's clever. Among other things, they're making the Dems look like fools for blaming the recall on a non-existent "vast right-wing conspiracy." LOL! You would believe that! <g> Bush doesn't know how this one will go. CA is a strong state for the Dems. If he gets behind a GOP contender and the guy loses, then Bush has mud on his face. In addition, Ah-nuld is a very moderate CA Rep. In general, the GOP has problems with CA Reps.........they look an awful lot like Dems to them. Bush has enough trouble with the radical right.....why create more. Besides, Arnold scares the bejezus out of them.....after all, he's sleeping with the enemy. lol! And then there are the Dems. They are terrified of losing CA, a major stronghold for their party. Clearly, the loss would be psychological since its not likely CA will go for Bush in 2004 but who wants to take the chance. So, this recall is starting to rejunevate a badly demoralized party. The recall may do for the Dems what the 2000 election, 9/11, the war in Iraq, tax cuts etc. could not do for them........get their confidence back! And they are finally starting to rely on an old war horse......Mr. Clinton. Trust me, Davis's campaign smells of Clinton right down to the casual clothes and if Davis pulls it off, that will mean slick Willie is back and the GOP is in for some hard times! Hehehehehe! ted
