Yes the Shah, whom Nixon-Ford let fall, then they blamed it on Carter. The Shah had become an annoyance because he was nationalizing oil-fields, but what followed was a lot worse. Then when Reagan came in we armed Saddam and helped him kill Iranians. The US helped create Saddam and Osama both. And both during the Reagan years. Ironic huh?
