Good morning.

I've seen similar pieces of art in other parts of the world.

Now that's interesting. In those paintings, who was prominently shown gloating over the destruction of the WTC? Anyone as recognizable as Saddam?

It does not mean that Saddam was part of it. He may have tacitly approved, since he lost his relationship with the US, but it does not show that Saddam was responsible. Anyone could have painted that, and Saddam may have never seen it.

You must be joking. Saddam's portrait was in every schoolroom, every government and private office, and on every denomination of Iraqi currency. The painting in question was found in the Baghdad airport, which was then known as...wait for it... Saddam International Airport (IATA code SDA).

Now think.... do you really believe that any artist in Saddam's Iraq would dare to paint such an incriminating portrait unless he had express approval from either Saddam or someone acting on his behalf? I agree: the painting is not conclusive proof of Saddam's involvement in 9-11. But wouldn't you say that it certainly looks like he wanted some of the credit?

It could have been painted in response to the Bush administration's constant accusations that Saddam was responsible.

No, the Bush Administration has blamed Osama bin Laden and al Qaida for 9-11. Keep your terrorists straight.

Certainly no Islamist would approve of the cigar.

I doubt Saddam ever worried about any Islamist's approval. Saddam's Iraq was a secular nation.

Do you remember the picture of out marines in one of the palaces smoking the Cubans that belonged to one of Saddam's sons?

Kinda like finding out Jesse Jackson was paying that mistress on the side. All those rules are just for the common folk............

Regards,

Bob
