I said we'd made a mistake in our reaction to the actual event, and recommended we change our ways. That meant, of course, reacting differently in the future- as in on the anniversaries. I still say Hitchens stole my idea. But it's a good one, and it deserves dissemination, so I forgive him.

They both advocated stoicism as the best response, rather to the actual event or to its anniversaries.

Please tell us what level of threshold we should adher to, before we're authorized as a nation to cast off that "stoic indifference" you and X seem to be advocating?
