Oh, Frank, you think folk are entitled to be considered serious moralists only if they agree with you. Rather narrow definition. Whatever the views expressed in that essay of his, and I agree with some and disagree with others, Schell is one of the great moralists of our time.

And, to make matters a bit clearer, I have some problems with moralists in general. But that's another topic for another conversation.

I'm always surprised by the assumption of a great many on this thread that to post something is to be in complete agreement with it. Or even to recommend folk read an already posted post, is to agree with it. Just read Schell as an important thinker. That's all.
