Saudi Arabia. Pakistan. Egypt. Jordan. etc -- teeming with "al Qaida". Prior to our fools errand, Saddam made Iraq one of the least open to religious extremists. Iraq is now teeming with religious extremists and foreign fighters -- and all for only a few hundred billion dollars, hundreds of American lives and the loss of our legitimacy as a world leader, not to mention the pinning-down of the bulk of our military with no exit strategy and the weakening our ability to deal with real threats from terrorists as well as from rogue states like North Korea. I don't advocate doing "nothing" -- I advocate not doing anything stupid, and unilaterally invading Iraq was stupid.
