no, you brought up the McKinsey report as some sort of defense for not ponying up to my deficit challenge.

You won't say why you don't think deficits will improve in a few months, since we are offshoring en masse and the business climate is certainly improving. Conditions are perfect for a deficit recovery in your scenario, but ONLY if you believe offshoring is a net positive for the US budget. If you believe it is a strong negative, as I do then things are looking like they are going to hell.

I read that McKinsey report that you cite (I wonder if you did actually)- and it does not present offshoring as a macro, global win for the US. It is speaking purely in terms of the microclimate for offshoring inside the company involved. McKinsey probably wrote the report to spur its own business with companies looking to offshore- if McKinsey were commissioned to study offshoring for the US Government and make a call as to whether offshoring was a win or lose for the USA economy, I don't believe for a minute the findings would be the same.

The icing on the proverbial cake is that countries like India actually have TARIFFS on our computer equipment! Shades of Japan, version II. Lets nip this beast in the bud immediately, if Bush and his corporate cronies won't do it, the next president, who I am sure will be a democrat, will.

As far as Larry Ellison, that was just a related piece of anecdotal commentary. The man offshored himself right out of a job, boo hoo. He can be a king in india- I'll even pack his bags!
