No matter what our government does? What if our occupation policy starts to include breaking the hands of dissidents, bulldozing their homes, and occasionally shooting rockets into their cities? At that point, should we continue to swear such blind loyalty? I doubt that many of today's neocons were alive and/or aware during the Vietnam era. The most patriotic duty of any American is to watch and question their government, and to never give them carte blanche without citizen oversight.
