They could easily do it gradually, in a way that would slowly poison us, rather than dumping it all in one day. Especially after their own domestic demand picks up, say 3, 5, or 10 years from now. Not to mention what might happen if they got involved on N. Korea's behalf in a peninsular war.

The point is they have the capability, to use in THEIR own interests, at a time and place of THEIR choosing. We are (or soon will be) almost totally dependant on them to finance our exploding deficits. It is a potential disaster, at best.
