I have received a lot of those too - some with infections, some not. I just delete them all and have not had any problems.

Are you running a firewall and up to date anti-virus software? You could be sending them out and not know it if your machine has been compromised. More than likely, your email address is probably being spoofed which makes it appear to the reader that the message came from you when it really didn't.
