Are you saying that God, intentionally, created war, famine, pestilence, slavery, and pornography?
to be more specific, colossians 15 tells us Jesus is the creator of all things, the firstborn of every creature. no, i don't believe God created evil. even lucifer was a perfect creation, as were adam and eve. God was gracious and loving enough to give his creations freewill. through pride and selfishness man chose to create war, famine, pornography, etc. God allows these things because to truly love something, you have to set it free and allow it to have freewill.
The Earth is millions of years old. That is a documented fact.
documented by whom? was this person actually present at creation or are they merely speculating? if you believe there is documentation proving the earth is millions of years old, certainly you should be able to give me the "documented" figure. could you narrow it down a bit? is it 2 million years, 20 million years, 200 million years?
You can wander blindly in the process of trying to fit the age of the world in the 4,000 year age
i don't recall ever putting forth the figure 4,000. that is something you have concocted out of your own head. the fact that you just pulled the figure of 4,000 out of your head tells me you probably haven't put much thought into the topic. that might explain your false conclusions.
but you are just fooling yourself, and letting blind faith override intelligence
you are the one who is operating on blind faith. you are putting your faith in the foolish wisdom of this world, in foolish men who were not even around "millions" of years ago, and who concoct their silly little theories on the basis of false premises. i put my faith in God. the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. God did give us intelligence, you know? What are we supposed to do with it? Ignore it?
the foolishness of God is wiser than men!
He NEVER said that the combination of one period of light, and one period of dark, was only 24 hours long.
you can try to twist and distort and manipulate the plain word of God all you like. if you want to set a vail upon your heart and find excuses to reject the clear meaning and intent of God's word, that is your choice. i don't seem to have any trouble comprehending the following verse, knowing that God will never deceive me.
And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.--Genesis 1:5
I don't expect God to sit down and write the Bible, since He didn't write it in the first place
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: --2 Timothy 3:16
and that I believe in Jesus as my Lord and Savior. I, totally, believe in Jesus, because I was once a sinner, and He touched me with His own hand when I was on the brink of hell, and about to step in the abyss
if you believe in Jesus, how come you have so much trouble accepting his words?
The problem with all the religions on Earth, is that none of them will accept flexibility
there is no flexibility to the truth. Jesus is the truth. why should their be any need for flexibility when it comes to the truth?
The rigid posture of all religions, is what has caused all the wars, and tragedies, brought about by those that will not open their eyes,
yes, the truth has a funny way of being rigid and absolute. the devil would certainly like you to believe that truth is convoluted, murky, gray, etc. you cannot equate the truth of Jesus Christ to any other man-made institution called "religion".
and accept the findings of geologists, anthropologist, archeologist, and learned men of the ages
the foolishness of God is wiser than men. why would i want to put my faith in the wisdom of mere men? man are not infallible. God is infallible.
You do not know, for sure, what the answers are, nor do I, nor anyone else on this planet
i may not know all the answers, but i know someone who does! he reveals new answers to me all the time when i seek after him and his word.
You think you know, and your own smug attitude renders you blind.
i think the one with the smug attitude is the god spoken of below. perhaps he has blinded you?
But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.--2 Corinthians 4:3-4 |
