EXACTLY, the money never gets paid back.
BUT, We still make payments on the principal and interest. That is why we don't want deficit spending and we need to balance the budget.

We are just going to be paying more and more taxes for interest and principal payments every year and have less for spending on anything we need, such as healthcare.
