practices' - this is how the trade war gets kicked off, which will eventually lead to a collapse of the stock market and US consumers being forced to pay a lot more for the cheap consumer goods they have gotten used to. it's a cheap political ploy that will inflict great harm on everybody ( including, ultimately, the industries it endeavors to 'protect' ) . what's unfair is not China's low wages, but the taxes and regulations jungle that stifles business at home. instead of dealing with the root cause of the problem, politicians are resorting to the usual scape-goating of foreign producers, potentially inviting grave consequences ( if this nonsense gets anywhere that is ) . note that US consumers are not forced to buy Chinese goods. they do so voluntarily. as Callahan has said, New York should immediately impose trade sanctions on Mississippi, as wages and prices are much much lower there. it follows that New York must succumb to Mississippi's unfair trade practices , 'export its jobs' , and generally suffer economic decline due to the evil-doers from Mississippi. the same holds for countless other states with which NY engages in unrestricted trade. it would be best if we all became self-sufficient hunter-gatherers again, since then there would be no possibility of free trade inflicting harm on us.

ild, Very good article. Asia is becoming more self-sufficient with China's build-up. The only thing they lack, ex Indonesia, is oil.
