"I really don't know if you want me to pray for the safety of your loved one. I prayed everyday for the safety and well being of my son, I prayed without ceasing.... and my prayers went by the way-side. Maybe, I told them quite boldly, you should ask someone else to pray."

Guess that we've all heard (and know) that all answers to prayer aren't exactly as we think they should be, but more what the Lord wants. The hard part is accepting the Lords way when we don't understand.

I'm talking more to me than I am to you Shalom, and if you will, I ask your prayers for my wife who goes in for eye surgery on Friday. She has a hole in her retina and they put in a bubble of some gas that has to stay on the hole for 10 to 14 days. (a little like those games the kids play where you try to put a bee-bee in a little hole - but do it upside down) To do that, she has to keep her eyes looking straight down for that time period. Don't know how when she sleeps, walks, etc. but she's strong, and the Lord will help somehow.

Strength, patience, guidance -- something.

Hey everybody -- look at all the "friends" Gregor's thread has been here to help. I thank the Lord often for leading him to start it and for the many who join in prayer for those asking. And smile also at the thought of visiting with you-all some day ----- soon!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dear shalom....I trust very precious few people to pray for me or my family. I am very careful of whom I let know that I have any problems,,,,thus negating any knowledge that I may be having problems and thus there is no need on their behalf to pray for me..
Likewise when someone requests prayer from me I take it as a solemn, sacred, holy trust that they have placed in me and I take it so seriously that if the answer to that prayer is seemingly out of character of the Lord, then it will put me in a deep depression sometimes for months. I constantly question the Lord, I know I am not supposed to but I just do it....I am always asking Him for understanding and wisdom and I want to know the deep desires of His heart and I want to know how He is motivated and moved and I want to know things about God that none others know. I want to know the answers to lifes deepest questions before I get to heaven. Even when the answer is NO I want to know why it was no,,NO...NO..In Christ ...gregor

RE: "... just letting God be God."

Very wise. It sounds to me like you know more about the Kingdom of God than you are admitting to.

Being human, it's hard to let go of our desires and embrace His desires.

Best wishes,
