Bush was instrumental in keeping the country on a steady course in the wake of the 9/11 attacks. He has taken the initiative against Al- Qaeda, disrupting its organization and foiling, in conjunction with our allies, numerous plots, both against us and elsewhere. He saved us from a bad treaty (Kyoto), that would have unduly penalized the developed nations, and especially the United States, and would have wrecked economic havoc. He has put the issue of proliferation front and center, neutralizing Iraq and inducing greater cooperation from North Korea. By neutralizing Iraq and introducing a greater US military presence in the region, he has gotten greater cooperation in fighting terrorists from the Saudis, and made some progress in negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians. He has caused the UN to begin a reevaluation of its relevance in the 21 century, and caused NATO to confront its role with the development of the European Union. This should do for right now.......
