There is plenty to cut on the non-defense portion of
the budget. In fact, the non-defense portion of the
budget would have to be massively slashed in order
for defense spending to return to its historical norms
as a percentage of the overall budget.

So, your argument about the "morale of our troops"
being sapped is a fallacy.
