<At least your not emotional on this one :-) >

I consider Objectivity to be another Myth, and have never tried to package my Viewpoint that way.

You may be right, about the education system. There are signs that the Myth is being eroded, in our classrooms. Certainly, Environmentalism has replaced Christianity, as the dominant all-encompassing ethos being taught at my children's (public) schools. In the pantheon of American Heroes (deified, like Roman Emperors), ML King is steadily being elevated, currently higher than Jackson and the Rooseveldts, still lower than Washington and Lincoln. About even with John F. "amphetamine" Kennedy.

I agree completely, that the Senecas used methods every bit as savage as George "Town Destroyer" Washington. And that Arafat is no better, and no worse, than Begin and Sharon. If Washington and Sharon killed more than Cornplanter and Arafat, it's simply because they had more means. The Will (To Kill) was there, for all of them.

I feel responsibility, to avoid the mistakes of the past, especially when those mistakes will lead to disaster if we repeat them today; I have no responsibility (or ability) to "make good" every historical injustice. Pick any spot on the earth's surface, and over the long span of human history, that ground has been stolen by one tribe from another tribe, probably 50 times. For me to feel guilty because I (very indirectly) benefitted from what Town Destroyer did to the Senecas, is as silly as feeling guilty over my Homo Sapiens Sapiens ancestors killing off the Neanderthals. Or my shrew-like mammal ancestors taking advantage of that meteor strike, to steal the planet from the dinosaurs.

So I don't want to give the planet back to the birds (the surviving remnant of the Dinosaur tribes). But I very much do want to study that history, and stop the current headlong plunge into another MEE (Mass Extinction Event). As the most specialized predator at the top of the food chain, we'll go where Tyrannosaurus went, if we don't get off the road we're on.
