rolatzi, <<strategy but I use shorter dated options>> ... I think I use the longer dated options because I am (a) greedy, (b) lazy, and (c) want to be able to close the put/call positions during the longer interim.

I generally go with the bid price, giving no chance for walking up the bid/ask, and in fact become a 'market-maker' myself :0) It is a fun game.
