Immediate effect is China has surplus of dollars - Uses them to buy US Treasuries. Result: China owns substantial part of US debt. What happens when China decides to sell those bonds?

no increased profits, just market share. Take a look yourself, applied materials. Profits way down from peak. Costs way down due to offshoring but profits down more.
