I think Bush is pulling a Gray Davis. Not levelling with the people about the real economic situation and acting like its just a matter of time until things improve.... until after the election that is. Notice the WH doesn't really discuss why the deficit is so high. Because that would draw attention to the real unemployment rate in the country, which is over 10% for white collar I am sure. Another good Gephardt quote "how many americans have to lose their jobs before Bush loses his"... another 500K I'd say.
