I must agree that the structure for GLD shows that a good idea has been bastardised.. I wonder why? Obviously the power lobby in New York insisted on getting a piece of the action so they can scuttle the project.... This is nothing like the structure of the ETG that has been formed and traded on the Australian stock market. There the gold is insured, is all in serial numbered London Good Delivery Bars and is registered and segregated. Also any investor with sufficient shares can redeem them for good delivery bars in London or can buy gold directly and have it exchanged for shares all for a moderate fee...
