I'm wondering if anyone in the Symantec user community has ever communicated with them about this glaring defect in LiveUpdate. I'd say they are putting themselves in an unfortunate liability position with this. And how tough can it be to post the new definitions to LiveUpdate as soon as they come out? Are these guys living in the stone age or something? I'm kind of irritated about this.

marty you are absolutely correct about a LU being available today for some but not for others.

i saw evidence of it myself... a screenshot of the LU dialog

i think that there are servers in santa clara, CA and in virginia and probably other places as well.

somehow, some people got LUs today and others didn't.

but hopefully you understand what is going on *usually* with these two different types of AV definition retrieval methods, IU and LU.
