I would differ from you there.

IMO, freedom of conscience doesn't permit one to deny the social rights of another.

People are free to believe what they want to. That's freedom of conscience. The state has no right to control belief.

People are not free to act as they want to, whether impelled by greed, hate, or conscience. The state has a right to control actions. Within constitutional limits, of course, and subject to democratic processes.
