John, I repeat

Investing in the Palestinians with Arafat in charge is like investing in the Iraqis with Saddam in charge. Arafat still has 40,000 police - what he has done with them for the last three years shows his intentions. Abu Ala can do nothing without Arafat's consent.

When you answer, there's no doubt that Sharon's policies are bankrupt, this is a statement of faith, not an argument. All you have to point to is the ongoing violence. I have a different explanation for it. More importantly, you have not answered my point about Arafat.

All your comments are based on the premise that both sides in the conflict really want peace and a compromise solution. But Hamas doesn't, and is open about it. Arafat doesn't either, but lies about it - but his actions show his true intent.

You seem to believe against all odds, that Sharon could still negotiate with Arafat. Why, for goodness sake?
