Interesting article.

I think I have less of this "affective-forecasting error" then most people. I sometimes find myself telling people that X or Y good thing or bad thing won't make as much difference as they think.

I also agree that the forecasting error can sometimes be a good thing. I'm not a very ambitious person. Tremendous ambition can often be negative but a bit more ambition would probably have caused me to accomplish more in my life. Of course that leaves open the the question of how much happier would I have been having accomplished more.
