I think on balance deporting Arafat will not advance Israel's interests.

I can understand the frustration and the difficulties Israel has had to deal with since he first returned. But a new deportation only will allow him to make media hay in front of adoring Islamic masses and increase his opportunities for creating havoc without necessarily preventing him from controlling the PA or the terror groups from the outside.

Why not just kill the SOB? He's more than earned it. Some people need killing--he's one of them. Should have been done a long time ago.

Where will Yasir go?

This puts Bush "on notice." The negatives are overcome by the positives of taking him out of the Pal power loop.
