This conscience thing is a can of worms.


Freedoms come with responsibility. You have an absolute freedom of speech in the USA. However, if you use that speech to injure another, you can be held liable, as with slander.

You are free to have conscience but where the behavior based on your conscientious outlook is deemed harmful to others you are held legally accountable ... for the behavior, lack of it, excess of it, etc.

The question becomes, at what point does the behavior, based on your conscientious outlook, become the states business.
