Don't feel bad my friend. As you may have guessed from my posts I too refused to buy the Bull case. Sometimes (and I never thought it would happen twice in 3 years) you need to realize that the guys running OPM don't care about fundamentals they only care that the market is going up. I have been fighting the trend of this cyclical bull within the secular bear for 3 months. Fortunately I had a few monster longs that still allow me to be up 36% YTD but had I not begun putting on my short 4 weeks ago and chased some Beta like the other brainiacs I hate to think where my numbers would be.

I'm now thinking we see a pullback to 900-920 between now and Late Oct with a marginal new high into year end. That should get me a few hundred bps on my short and then a trade into January.

Reflecting back it now appears as though too many folks were betting on seasonality, started shorting last month, got squeezed and perpetuated the overbought trend. I told Sun yesterday, I plan to make money on this short if it breaks me! ;) I know I'm right why isn't the market cooperating? Afterall my logic seems rational, valuations are ridiculous regardless of how good the turn around actually is, Margin debt is through the roof as the "double downers" are out in force, The VIX is low and the bond market sucks and it's September.

I have never had a larger short position in my career and maybe that's why we constantly rally. The last time I had a large short on was Aug-early Sept 2001 and covered on 9/9.

Had I still been short I would have felt compelled to donate a large chunk of those profits to the 911 fund.

Eat More Dogs, Cambodians Urged

PHNOM PENH (Reuters) - Cambodians are being urged to eat more dogs as part of a crackdown on stray mutts wandering around the capital of the southeast Asian nation.

Although dogs, along with creepy-crawlies such as spiders, beetles and crickets, are found regularly on menus in deeply impoverished rural areas, eating them is frowned upon in the relative sophistication of Phnom Penh.

City governor Kep Chuktema says it is now time to draw up a special pooch policy to control the growing problem of pavement-fouling strays, and for city-dwellers to throw off their traditional snootiness toward dining on man's best friend.

"Come on, dog meat is so delicious," he was quoted as saying in Thursday's Cambodia Daily newspaper. "The Vietnamese and Koreans love to eat dog meat."

"(Cambodians) don't have wine, but poor people can enjoy their dog meat with palm juice wine," he said.

Hitherto, Phnom Penh dog lovers have had to keep their tastes under wraps by asking for 'special' or 'jogging cow' meat in restaurants.
