That's a critical point -- has anyone found an analysis of where these funds are going? As I understand it the DOD is rapidly privatizing its budget into mercenaries and contractors.

Friends of mine tell me about this, one offering $200k/yr position to provide training. My son-in-law got a $140k offer. The only catch? A 1-year hitch with the private firm and no trips home, having to deal with dead bodies every day, the occasional sniper, etc. He was interested, but my daughter had a different opinion <g>

This is a huge boondoggle. The defense contractors must be charging the taxpayer 10x those rates.

No wonder it costs $50mill to build a $1m bridge.

Don please pray for me, not feel sorry for me... thanks

Now if the bridge costs $500 million lets get the specifics and get it out to folks who would love to run with this story.. I am sure new york times will put it on the front page...

Let's put something down that can be backed up with specifics.. vs est of $300 thousand and an American firm says $500 million... Do you want to buy the Brooklyn Bridge..We are loaded with press over there how about one of them reporting it.
