NAV2004 has taken a bold step into the anti-spyware waters. it is now scanning for more then viruses, trojans and worms. it is now looking for keyloggers and spyware.

i've heard mostly discouraging responses from security-minded souls who wish symantec would stick to the heavy threats and not water down their area of influence by trying to be all things to all people.

at this point (very early in the product cycle), i'm quite willing to withhold judgement until i see more results.

it's important to remember that the people expressing dissatisfaction with symantec's willingness to expand protection are people who already run three or four programs to combat spyware. but most users probably will welcome the company's foray into the quest for one-stop threat detection.
