Why hire when you can get the job done with less people? Productivity is up. Labor and overhead costs are down. Corporate profits go up even more. Of course the people that are looking for jobs will suffer, but there are jobs to be had in certain sectors. Maybe some of the unemployed should consider a career change? I realize how hard that can be depending on one's age and home situation...spouse, kids, house payment, etc., but you have to do what you have to do. Economics will dictate what happens to the job market, not the needs of a select few that are unemployed. I hope that nobody gets me wrong. I am not insensitive to those who are unemployed. I even got laid off myself about two years ago. I just think that I'm being realistic.
