Of course. It is quite extensively and freely discussed that straight guys can be dogs and the problems related to dogging or untrustworthy associations are put on stage (Ricky Lake etc.) for our entertainment and comment. I consider that in the same frame of disturbing infirmity or societal ill, as you have rightly placed it.

Also, subject to free and open opining is the traditional straight conservative lifestyle... Fair enough, we should all take a critical look at what we are doing, consider, reconsider and consider further, for the sake of critical analysis, what we are about... that is a healthy thing to do. However, when I suggest that the gay lifestyle could be criticised, (I think we have a large enough population to identify a typical or mainstream lifestyle) I recieve what I consider to be a phobic response (abnormal fear of being labeled homophobic). Words like "bashing" and "homophobia" are thrown out without a particular context other than someone suggests a critique might be of use. That, I consider to be the most unhealthy and the worrysome aspect of the issue...as much for the "straight" viewpoint as the "gay" view point.
